At Young life, we welcome, value, and respect all teenagers and want to engage with them in the context of their lives…and that means at school, too!

We would welcome the opportunity to volunteer in your school and begin building relationships with your junior and senior high students.

  • Great question! At Young Life, your child’s safety is our top priority. That’s why every one of our volunteers undergoes a rigorous screening and training program.

    Every Parkland Young Life leader has provided a criminal record check (with vulnerable sector check), provided references who have been contacted, had a meet-and-greet/interview with the area director, and gone through new leader training and mental health first aid. Before a leader is allowed to drive a youth, they must provide a clean driving abstract and complete a driver’s questionnaire.

  • Our leaders only goal is to build connection with teens in the area. We seek to engage teenagers through long-term relationships, allowing room for trust and mentorship. Even just one positive influence in a teen’s life can change their outlook for the better, and affect their decisions for the future.

    Our leaders would be happy to help at sports tournaments, mentor students who need a friend, perhaps help kids with their homework on lunch breaks. If welcomed into your school, we will do our best to be an asset to your staff and will always act in a respectful and courteous manner (as any good guest should).

    The community we seek to serve includes people of all socio-economic, faith, and ethnic backgrounds. As we continue to grow, our motivation remains the same: to care for youth in our community and earn the right to share God’s love.
